Tairawhiti Midwives

Tairawhiti Midwives want to give you good quality care.
Tairawhiti midwives consist of 5 midwives 3 Maori midwives 1 New Zealand European and 1 English.

Four of the midwives are Lead Maternity Carers carrying a caseload
But working together as a team for support and sustainability. 
Located at 94 Delatour Road Tairawhiti midwives are the only midwifery service located in the Kaiti area.

Tairawhiti midwives provide a free maternity service to women in the Tairawhiti area throughout the childbearing period.
This includes free pregnancy tests antenatal, labour & birth and postnatal care.
Integration of services with midwives accessing other services such as obstetric or paediatric services.

The midwives also work in collaboration with other health professionals regarding medical, health or social needs of mothers, baby/s and family. 
The provision of mainly primary care with some midwives opting to do secondary care.

We also have a Mama & Pepi contract supporting motivational life changes this is guided by the whakatauki.
